Winner of 9th Season of "Food Network Star"

Damaris Phillips, a Southern spitfire from Louisville, Ky., graduated from Jefferson Community and Technical College with a degree in culinary arts and now teaches at the same school inspiring up-and-coming chefs to follow their dreams. Before returning to teach, Phillips took on various restaurant and baking jobs, working in the front and back of house. One of five kids, Phillips learned to cook at an early age and was responsible for cooking one night a week for her large family. She uses her wit and her traditional Southern cuisine to pack a one-two punch in the kitchen.

She won the ninth season of "Food Network Star," and now hosts her own show called "Southern At Heart."

Phillips is also the 2013 winner of Food Network Star, where she impressed judges with her fresh take on Southern cuisine, and won over the audience with her impeccable charm. She then went on to host her own show, Southern at Heart, for five seasons. Phillips can also be seen on several other shows on the network, including Guy's Grocery Games, Cooks vs. Cons, Bakers vs. Fakers, Celebrity Food Fight, and others. Her first book, "Southern Girl Meets Vegetarian Boy," was released in 2017.
