Dan is a vice president in the Battery Ventures’ Menlo Park office. At Battery, he focuses on early- and growth-stage investments in cloud infrastructure, security, enterprise mobile and big-data analytics companies. Dan is currently involved with Battery’s investments in Contrast Security, Databricks, Expel, Fungible, InfluxData, Machinify, Sensu and Woven.

Prior to joining Battery, Dan worked at VMware in the strategy & corporate development team. There, he was responsible for acquisitions, investments and strategy – focusing on IT infrastructure, cloud and end-user computing. He previously spent time at UBS in the investment banking division as part of the technology, media and telecommunications group. While at UBS, Dan advised on capital raises, corporate strategy and M&A for companies in the technology sector.

In 2018 Dan made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in economics and currently serves on the board of Playworks, an educational non-profit geared towards transforming children’s social and emotional health through meaningful play.
