English Actor Best Known for Playing James Bond & The "Knives Out" Franchise

English actor Daniel Craig gained international fame by playing James Bond in five films, crafting a unique and widely recognized interpretation of the iconic character. Craig's journey to the role of Bond began at the National Youth Theatre and continued through his graduation from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. His early career was marked by a breakthrough role in the drama serial "Our Friends in the North," as well as supporting roles in films such as Elizabeth, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Road to Perdition, Layer Cake, and Munich. Notably, Craig's performance in Casino Royale earned him a BAFTA nomination.

Throughout his career, Craig has shown his range and versatility through a variety of roles, including performances in The Golden Compass, Defiance, Cowboys & Aliens, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Logan Lucky. His talent has been recognized with two Golden Globe Award nominations for his performances in Knives Out and Glass Onion. Craig's stage experience is also significant, having made his Broadway debut in the revival of Harold Pinter's "Betrayal," starred in the New York Theatre Workshop production of "Othello" as Iago, and returned to Broadway in 2022 in the title role of "Macbeth."

Since his first screen role in 1992, Craig has continuously added to his repertoire, featuring in an array of TV shows, films, and stage productions. Noteworthy performances include his portrayal of an Afrikaner in The Power of One, Irish mobster Connor Rooney in Road to Perdition, and German theoretical physicist Werner Heisenberg in the BBC television drama "Copenhagen." In addition to his acting, Craig has also been involved with multiple charities and was appointed the first global advocate for the elimination of mines and explosive hazards by the United Nations. His accomplishments in film and theatre were recognized with his appointment as Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) in the 2022 New Year Honours.
