Daniel Kaufmann  

Director, Governance and Anti-Corruption World Bank Institute.

Daniel Kaufmann is a senior fellow in the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution and previously served as director of the World Bank Institute, where he pioneered approaches to measuring and analyzing governance and corruption, helping countries formulate action programs. A world-renowned and well-published writer, he also pioneered, with colleagues, approaches to diagnosing and analyzing country governance. At the Bank, Dr. Kaufmann also held senior positions related to finance, regulation, anticorruption, and capacity building for Latin America, and served as the lead economist in the Economies in Transition Unit and as senior economist in the Bank’s Africa Region.
