Danny Avila

"Best Newcomer DJ" at the 2011 Vicious Music Awards at 16 years old

At the grand old age of 17, Danny Avila has become one of the hottest acts in the world of EDM. From winning the Best Newcomer DJ at the prestigious 2011 Vicious Music Awards at just 16, through an incredible 2012 Ibiza season that caught the attention of everyone including Tisto and dance bible DJ Mag where he became the youngest ever Covermount CD artist, to the announcement of his residency as the youngest ever prime-time DJ on US broadcasting behemoth SiriusXM, Avila is the name on everyones lips and rightly so.

Its a story that starts over five years ago. After haggling his way into some of Spains top club venues at the age of 12 to witness the passion and power of artists like Fedde le Grand, Afrojack, David Guetta and more from the confines of lighting booths and sound desks, the young Avila knew exactly where he wanted to be. Showing incredible determination and a vast sponge-like acquirement for music, Avila went from playing at friends parties to warm-up spots at Ku in Benidorm where he was first noticed by le Grand. Proving an ability beyond his years to lay down sets oozing with tribal heat and rich in track selection that burst beyond the confines of the Beatport Top 10 charts, Avilas reputation grew, and grew quickly. To anyone whos witnessed him behind the DJ booth, it has come as no surprise. To see Danny in action is to be hit with the full force of an exuberant, excitable and unbridled energy for the music that he plays and the reaction from the crowd that marks him out as a truly passionate performer who both loves and understands the dance floor and what it stands for.

Fast forward to 2012, and it has already been an incredible year for the young Spaniard. After earning his stripes in truly illustrious company thanks to early headline slots with Fedde le Grand, Martin Solveig, Afrojack, David Guetta and the Black Eyed Peas, Danny confirmed not one, not two but three residencies in Ibiza at the jet-set hotspot Blue Marlin, at one of the worlds most celebrated venues, Space Ibiza, and at the personal behest of Tisto, the legendary Pacha Ibiza where he appeared alongside the iconic Dutchman for an unbelievable 15 dates. A staggering 35 dates in total across the season, Danny Avila had well and truly landed on the White Isle.

While Avila was busy wowing the crowds in Ibiza, on the other side of the Atlantic, the powers that be were also paying attention. Stateside broadcasting behemoth SiriusXM, the largest purveyor of dance music on the North American continent, snapped up the teenagers Ready To Jump show without a moments hesitation, making him the youngest EVER prime-time resident to grace the airwaves and this before Avila had even dropped a single beat on American soil. The show, a sizzling hour-long concoction of pure energy and fun is the perfect representation of the young Spaniard and has had rave reviews across the board from enamoured legions of new US fans.

Now that the world is sitting up and paying attention, its time for Danny to drop the next phase of the Avila adventure. His debut single Breaking Your Fall has attracted attention from all four major labels, an incredible sign of just how fast and hard hes making himself felt at the very highest industry levels. Pencilled for release in Fall 2012, the track has already caused a huge amount of hype on the Internet, featuring across his latest YouTube tour videos and causing fans to beg for an official release date. Add to that more global touring across Europe and the Middle East, his first North American tour this Fall, which will include high profile dates at LIV in Miami, Pacha in New York, Nocturnal Wonderland in California, Electric Daisy Carnival in Puerto Rico and several major shows for US EDM brand Life In Colour plus a rumoured 2013 residency at a new superclub opening in the bright lights of Vegas it really is only a matter on time before Avila is a household name on US shores.

And if all that wasnt enough, hes not only spear heading the next generation of superstar DJ/producers hes also pretty damn prolific when it comes to anything concerning a board. Verging on pro skate- and snowboarder status, Avilas also notched up 2nd in the Spanish Wakeboard Championships, 7th in the European Wakeboard Championships and 12th in the World Wakeboard Championships as ever proving that hes ready to jump no matter what the medium!

There is, it seems, absolutely no stopping Danny Avila at whatever he turns his hand to. The future beckons, and its practically blinding.
