Danny White took three seasons to accomplish the noteworthy achievement of building the Rattlers franchise from its inception to a world champion in 1994. He earned Arena Football League Coach of the Year honors in his second season (1993), and his induction into the Arena Football League Hall of Fame as a coach highlights his significant contributions to the sport. White is the third winningest coach in AFL history with 79 wins, boasting a .675 career winning percentage and a .667 career playoff percentage. His 10 playoff wins rank him third behind Tim Marcum and Perry Moss.
White's intense pursuit of excellence traces back to his days as a player at Mesa's Westwood High School, Arizona State University, and with the Dallas Cowboys. Starting his Dallas tenure in 1980, White broke the Cowboys' single-season touchdown passing record in his first year and led the team to the playoffs in five seasons, achieving three NFC East titles. His prowess as a quarterback is evidenced by holding 22 Cowboys' records, including career marks for completions and touchdown passes. White's leadership on the field culminated in a 67-35 record as a starter for the Cowboys, including a formidable 41-11 mark at Texas Stadium. He was named an All-Pro and played in the Pro Bowl, underscoring his exceptional skills as a player.
Beyond his playing and coaching roles, White has been active in broadcasting, providing color commentary for the FOX Sports Pac-10 Game of the Week. He also travels around the country delivering inspirational keynote programs. White's commitment extends off the field, particularly in the Phoenix area where he is involved in various charitable activities. His contributions to football and community service have also earned him induction into the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame in 1997, as well as the ASU Sports Hall of Fame and the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame.
