Former President & CEO of Boeing

From 2020-2024, Dave Calhoun served as the President and CEO of Boeing, the world's largest aerospace company. Out of college at Virginia Tech, Calhoun embarked on a successful career in the business world, expanding over the late 20th and early 21st centuries. His tenure at Boeing began in 2009 when he joined as a director, later ascending to the role of Chairman, a position he held prior to his current role as CEO.

Prior to Boeing, Calhoun dedicated 26 years to General Electric (GE) after graduating from college. His significant leadership roles also include serving as the CEO of Nielsen Holdings and the Executive Chairman of Nielsen. Further highlighting Calhoun's commitment to fostering education and innovation, he generously donated $20 million to his alma mater, Virginia Tech, resulting in the establishment of the Calhoun Honors Discovery Program.

Calhoun's leadership style is characterized by an openness to accept errors and the determination to rectify them, as evidenced by his public acknowledgment of mistakes made by Boeing in relation to aircraft accidents. Additionally, his appearance on the podcast "On The Record with Boeing's CEO" provides insight into his transparent approach toward company affairs. In 2023, Calhoun announced that he would be stepping down as President and CEO of Boeing at the end of the year.
