Dave Carey is a sought-after professional speaker, trainer and consultant.

Flying a combat mission over Vietnam, Carey’s aircraft was shot down. As a motivational speaker, Carey relates his experiences as a P.O.W. for 5& 1/2/ years to help people better understand the prison-like aspects they may experience in their personal and professional lives. Drawing from his extensive experience as: a P.O.W.; a leader of several organizations himself; and, as a trainer and consultant, he brings to his audiences a positive, up-beat message about being your best - doing your best - no matter the circumstances!

Given the present difficult professional and personal situations caused by the siege of the coronavirus, Carey’s presentations have become increasingly relevant. His experience and insight on how to deal effectively with: difficult situations, an uncertain future, change, bad business cycles, all the pressure in our personal and professional lives is encouraging, enlightening and reassuring.

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Carey is a retired Navy Captain. He was three times selected to be a Commanding Officer and served as the Director of the Navy’s premiere site for leadership and management training. In this role he personally led leadership seminars for prospective commanding and executive officers.

His audiences and clients have included numerous diverse groups and organizations. Among them are: the Phillips-Van Heusen; Aetna Insurance; ARCO; 3M; Starbucks Coffee Company; the Group Health Cooperative; IBM; Superba, Inc.; McDonnell Douglas; Owens Corning; EDS; numerous Nuclear Power Plants; Hewlett Packard, Toyota of South Africa; Solar Turbines; Experian; Merck; The National Roofing Contractors Assoc., and many, many others.

Among Captain Carey’s military awards are the Legion of Merit, five Bronze Stars, two Meritorious Service Medals, the Purple Heart, eight Air Medals and the Navy Commendation Medal.
