In 2013, Dave Doeren was hired as the head coach of the North Carolina State University Wolfpack. Under his leadership, the team has had multiple successful seasons, including winning nine games in 2017 and 2018. He is the second-winningest coach in NC State history.

Over the years, Doeren has had multiple high-level coaching positions at various universities. He previously served as the head coach at Northern Illinois, where he led the Huskies to back-to-back MAC Championships and was a finalist for national coach of the year. He also served as the defensive coordinator with Wisconsin from 2008-10.

Doeren attended Drake University, where he played college football as a tight end for four years. After graduating in 1994, he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Southern California.

Off the field, Doeren is known for his commitment to community service and giving back. He has been involved with various charitable organizations and community outreach programs throughout his coaching career.
