Daveed Diggs is an American actor, rapper, and singer, widely acclaimed for his Tony and Grammy Award-winning performance in the Broadway hit "Hamilton," where he originated the roles of both Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson. His portrayal in "Hamilton" also earned him an Emmy nomination and his performance was featured in the "Hamilton" movie streaming on Disney+.

Since leaving "Hamilton" in 2016, Diggs continued to expand his career with notable roles across various media. He co-starred in films including "Wonder," "Velvet Buzzsaw," and Rob Marshall’s live-action adaptation of "The Little Mermaid." He also appeared in a range of television series such as "Black-ish," TNT’s "Snowpiercer," and Apple’s anthology series "Extrapolations." Diggs wrote, produced, and starred in the 2018 film "Blindspotting," which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Male Lead. He further developed "Blindspotting" into a television series for Starz, where he served as a creator, writer, executive producer, and guest star. The series received critical acclaim, including a Gotham Award Nomination and an Indie Spirit Award Nomination for “Breakthrough Series - Short Format.”

In addition to his film and television work, Diggs has made significant contributions to theater and music. He returned to the stage in The Public Theater’s production of Suzan-Lori Parks’ "White Noise." As a musician, he is the main vocalist of the Los Angeles-based experimental hip-hop group ‘clipping.’ The group has produced several albums, including their Hugo Award-nominated sophomore album, "Splendor & Misery." Diggs has also lent his voice to numerous animated series, including Apple’s "Central Park" and Netflix’s "Green Eggs and Ham."
