Manager of the Cincinnati Reds

David Bell has his dream job as the manager of the Cincinnati Reds. Bell grew up in Cincinnati and attended prestigious Moeller High School before emarking on a life in baseball. He was named the Reds' 63rd manager prior to the 2019 season after a 12-year playing career and extensive coaching background. Bell spent the 2018 season as vice president of player development for the San Francisco Giants. His major league coaching experience included positions with the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs. In 2008, Bell began coaching as a manager in the Reds system. During his playing career, he suited up for seven different franchises. The highlight of his career was playing with the San Francisco Giants in the 2002 World Series. Bell scored the winning run in the NLCS that sent the franchise to the Fall Classic. At the end of the season, he received the team's Willie Mac Award.
