David Brown    

Radio Journalist, Award-winning Host, Author

David Brown is the anchor of the daily statewide public radio news hour, "Texas Standard," based at Austin NPR affiliate KUT-FM, and a veteran public radio journalist with over three decades of experience. He is also the former anchor of the Peabody award-winning public radio business program "Marketplace" and has extensively covered national and international affairs for NPR and PRI’s MonitoRadio from various locations including Atlanta, Boston, London, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.

Brown is not only known for his radio journalism but also as the host of the hit podcasts "Business Wars" and "Business Wars Daily" by Wondery. His reporting has taken him on location to countries such as Brazil and India, several European countries, and numerous U.S. states. He has covered a wide range of topics from the White House and global arms control efforts to immigration, natural disasters like Hurricane Harvey, and the fall of Enron. He has also produced compelling biographies of notable figures such as Janis Joplin, Willie Nelson, and Townes Van Zandt. His work has earned him numerous RTNDA/RTDNA Murrow awards, National Headliner Awards, AP Broadcast honors, and two Grand Prizes from the International Radio Festivals.

Brown holds a Ph.D. in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law. He remains an active member of both the California and U.S. Supreme Court Bars and continues to contribute to legal aid initiatives as a veteran of the Americorps program in the Shenandoah Valley. Additionally, Brown is the author of "The Art of Business Wars," a book that delves into the greatest business rivalries in history using strategies inspired by Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu. He is recognized for his engaging and thoughtful keynote speeches on topics including Business Motivation, Business Strategy, and Leadership.
