Pulitzer Prize-Winning Reporter For The Washington Post

David A. Fahrenthold is a reporter covering the Trump family and their business interests. He has been at the Post since 2000, and previously covered Congress, the federal bureaucracy, the environment, and the D.C. police. Fahrenthold is also an on-air contributor to NBC News and MSNBC.

In 2017, Fahrenthold was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting for his coverage of Donald Trump, including the 2016 United States presidential election. He was being awarded for his persistent reporting that created a model for transparent journalism in political campaign coverage while casting doubt on Trump’s assertions of generosity toward charities.

A native of Houston, he now lives with his wife and two daughters in Washington. Fahrenthold graduated from Harvard with a history degree.
