Physician Dedicated to Drug Repurposing for Orphan Diseases; Co-Founder of Every Cure & Castleman Disease Collaborative Network

Dr. David Fajgenbaum, MD, MBA, MSc, FCPP, is the Co-Founder and President of the Castleman Disease Collaborative Network (CDCN), Founding Director of the Center for Cytokine Storm Treatment & Laboratory (CSTL), Associate Director of Patient Impact for the Penn Orphan Disease Center, and Associate Professor of Medicine in Translational Medicine & Human Genetics at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also the author of "Chasing My Cure: A Doctor’s Race to Turn Hope Into Action," a bestselling book about his own experience as a patient battling the rare and deadly Castleman disease.

Inspired by his progress unlocking new uses for existing drugs for multiple diseases, Fajgenbaum co-founded Every Cure. Backed by the Clinton Global Initiative, Every Cure aims to coordinate drug data, identify generics that might offer hope for patients with a rare disease, and bring the most promising drugs through clinical trials.

Dr. Fajgenbaum also serves on the Board of Directors for both the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA and Creyon Bio.

Dr. Fajgenbaum earned his MBA from The Wharton School, where he was awarded the Joseph Wharton Award, Core Value Leadership Award, Kissick Scholarship, Wharton Business Plan Competition Social Impact Prize, Eilers Health Care Management Award, Mandel Fellowship, and was the Commencement Speaker. He also received his MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a 21st Century Gamble Scholar; his MSc in Public Health from the University of Oxford as an Allbritton Scholar; and a BS in Honors Human Sciences with Distinction from Georgetown University, where he co-founded the National Students of AMF Support Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting college students grieving the illness or death of a loved one.
