Triple-Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon; Sports Medicine Specialist & Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine Expert

Dr. David Geier has earned board certification in Orthopaedic Surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, as well as subspecialty certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine from the same board. He has also earned board certification in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine from the American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Additionally, he earned a certification in Peptide Therapy from the International Peptide Society and American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He is a member of both the International Peptide Society and Clinical Peptide Society, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He served on the AOSSM Board of Directors as Communication Council Chair from 2016 to 2019. He was a member of the Medical Aspects of Sports Committee of the South Carolina Medical Association for over a decade and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine, Sports Health, and the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Geier spent over 16 years in traditional orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, creating and leading the sports medicine program at an academic medical center and then at a private hospital in the Charleston area. In both positions, and in his current practice, he works with athletes and active people of all ages, from all over the country.

Dr. Geier is grateful for the opportunities to write content for other publications, though he initially did not start writing content for his blog with that purpose in mind. Nevertheless, he is honored to be able to share sports medicine and health information with much larger audiences. He is the author of "That’s Gotta Hurt: The Injuries That Changed Sports Forever."
