David Grainger is the principle character on the hit show Restoration Garage that airs its fourth season on Discovery Velocity in the USA and around the world on numerous broadcasters.

David’s passion for cars began in his early teens when he became addicted to street racing as well as spending time on the track. This resulted in his ruining twenty-four perfectly good cars before his 24th birthday. In his twenties he also worked as a zookeeper, snake handler, big cat handler, commercial diver, and truck driver, founded, and ran a sanctuary for injured wildlife. He also became a very successful wild life artist with many significant one-man shows and exhibitions under his belt. In the early 90s David and his wife Janice founded the Guild of Automotive Restorers which has developed into one of the most successful restoration facilities in the world.

The Guild under his direction has restored literally thousands of vehicles ranging from Volkswagen Beetles to Bugatti Grand Prix cars, Cars that he has restored have taken top accolades around the world and the famous Bugatti Aerolithe won Historical Car of the Year in 2013. He was invited to lead over two hundred Pinin Farina designed cars through the streets of Turin for the 85th anniversary of Pinin Farina.
Cars restored by the Guild have appear on the lawns of Pebble Beach California and Villa d’Este in Italy as well as at Hot Rod and custom car shows across the American continent.

David has also designed and built award winning hot rods and customs and is still busy running the Guild of Automotive Restorers where as many as fifty projects at a time are often on the front burners.
