Mr. Ellison is President of The FBR Funds and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for The FBR Equity Funds. Mr. Ellison is the Portfolio Manager of the FBR Large and Small Cap Financial Funds and Co-Portfolio Manager of the FBR Technology Fund.

Mr. Ellison's investment strategy involves looking for companies with an attractive historical growth rate, strong financial position and excellent earnings potential selling at reasonable prices. In essence, he employs a relatively conservative investment philosophy designed to enhance investment opportunities through careful security selection and full-time money management.

Prior to joining FBR in 1996, Mr. Ellison managed the Fidelity Select Home Finance Fund. While at Fidelity, Mr. Ellison developed his investing discipline and strategy under the tutelage of seasoned fund managers like Peter Lynch.

Mr. Ellison is a frequent speaker at investor conferences and universities, and has appeared on CNBC, CNNfn, and CNN. He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Dow Jones Investment Advisor, SmartMoney, and Business Week magazine. He has also written articles for American Banker and Worth magazines.

Mr. Ellison received a B.A. in Economics from St. Lawrence University in 1980. He earned his M.B.A. from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1983.
