David McCormick is an American politician and hedge fund executive. He served as the CEO of Bridgewater Associates, from 2020 to 2022, a hedge fund with more than $140 billion in assets.

A Republican, he was formerly Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs in the George W. Bush administration. In December 2021, it was reported that McCormick is considering running for the U.S. Senate seat held by retiring Senator Pat Toomey.

Previously, McCormick served as CEO and then President of two publicly-traded software companies, and before that was a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, a veteran of the First Gulf War, and has a Ph.D. from Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs.
