As an Associate Professor at Cornell University's Psychology department, Pizarro's research hones in on moral and behavioral development and has published over 20 articles, scientifically explaining how emotions affect judgment.

The psychology professor is especially interested in the biases that affect moral responsibility. Although he focuses on specific emotions like anger and fear in his studies, disgust seems to be the most influentially dominant emotion.
