David Schlesinger      

Chairman, Thomson Reuters China

David Schlesinger is chairman of Thomson Reuters China and is the group’s senior representative in the region. He is responsible for building senior relationships, providing thought leadership, and advising on strategy for operations across Thomson Reuters' interests in financial markets, legal databases, scientific information, and journalism. Schlesinger was appointed to this role after four years as editor-in-chief of Reuters News at Thomson Reuters. Before that, Schlesinger was the company’s global managing editor for three years. He is a director of the Thomson Reuters Foundation and chairman of the Dannenberg Oberlin-in-London Program. He serves on several boards of organizations including the International News Safety Institute and the Committee to Protect Journalists, and is honorary president of the International Network of Street Papers. Schlesinger is on the steering committees for Oxford University’s Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and for Tsinghua University’s School of Journalism and Communications.
