David Sloan Wilson is one of the world’s foremost evolutionary thinkers and a gifted communicator about evolution to the general public. He is SUNY Distinguished Professor of Biology and Anthropology Emeritus at Binghamton University in New York and President of Prosocial World, a nonprofit that promotes an evolutionary worldview in all arenas of human life. He is author of numerous academic and trade books including Darwin’s Cathedral: Evolution, Religion, and the Nature of Society, Evolution for Everyone: How Evolution Can Change the Way We Think About Our Lives, and Does Altruism Exist? Culture, Genes, and the Welfare of Others. In his newest nonfiction book, This View of Life: Completing the Darwinian Revolution, Wilson argues that the Darwinian revolution will not be truly complete until it makes sense of everything associated with the words “human”, “culture”, and “policy” in addition to “biology”. His most recent book is a novel, Atlas Hugged, which critiques the “Greed is Good” ideology of Ayn Rand in the form of a sequel to her novel Atlas Shrugged.
