David Wickham is a director with HSBC Global Asset Management, a nonresident fellow at the Brookings Institution, and an associate fellow of the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.
Mr. Wickham is a director of global emerging markets & frontier markets equity with HSBC Global Asset Management in London where he is responsible for leading the promotion of the firm’s global emerging and frontier markets equity capabilities. He is also an associate fellow of the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, a nonresident fellow of the Brookings Institution, and an advisor to Leopard Capital.
Prior to joining HSBC, Mr. Wickham was employed as a director and acting head of International Partnership Investments with Invesco Asset Management where he managed the firm’s international private equity investment programme and raised capital from institutional investors. Throughout his tenure at Invesco, Mr. Wickham was an advisory board member of a number of leading private equity firms. He held a similar position prior to this at Insight Investment (now part of BNY Mellon Asset Management) where he was responsible for sourcing, analysing, approving, and actively monitoring investments in American and European venture capital and private equity partnerships.
Mr. Wickham holds a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Cambridge and an MBA with distinction from the University of Oxford, in addition to postgraduate and undergraduate degrees gained in Sydney and Melbourne, and has held a fellowship with the Oxford University Foreign Service Programme at the Oxford Department of International Development. In addition, he is a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and Royal Asiatic Society; an Associate of the International Institute for Strategic Studies; and a Member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of the United Kingdom.
