Founder & CEO of Peer Ledger

Dawn is the energetic founder and CEO of Peer Ledger. She has the honor of leading a first-class, in-Canada team of software engineers and architects passionate about corporate social responsibility, blockchain technology, and value creation. Dawn has spent 20+ years doing multi-disciplinary R&D and consulting in computer science and business. Dawn received her Master and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science in the areas of distributed shared memory and multi-view access control respectively from the Technical University of Nova Scotia. She received the 2009 World Technology Award for IT Software in the Individual Category. She founded the Master of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation program in 2012, and served as a Chair of the Dept. of Finance, Information Systems, and Management Science for 2 years, Founding Director/Program Coordinator of the MTEI program for 3 years, and Saint Mary’s University Board of Governors for 6 years. She currently serves on the OASIS Open Board and the IWK Health Centre’s Board of Directors.

Dawn brings passion, strategic thinking, and superb execution ability to everything she does. Devoted to her family, she delights in the value that blockchain can bring to business and citizens everywhere. She led the authorship of the article called “Making Business Sense of e-Commerce” appearing in IEEE Computer and Nikkei Computer In 1999. Almost 20 years later, she clearly sees the analogy with blockchain and the parallel opportunities it brings.
