To lessen the stigma associated with menstruation in India, Deane De Menezes founded Red is the new Green, a campaign that hosts education sessions in order to help school-age girls feel less ashamed. Red is the new Green, which has helped over 15,000 girls, has also installed sanitary towel vending machines and eco-friendly incinerators to reduce waste in schools.
