Animation Art Director at Pixar, Character Designer, Animation Educator

Deanna Marsigliese is an Animation Art Director and Illustrator at Pixar Studios since 2012. Her work has been featured in several acclaimed films, including "Luca" (2021), "Soul" (2020), "Onward" (2020), "Toy Story 4" (2019), "Incredibles 2" (2018), "Bao" (2018), "Inside Out" (2015), and "The Good Dinosaur" (2013). Marsigliese's expertise lies in storytelling through character design, contributing significantly to the success of these projects.

Before joining Pixar, Marsigliese worked as a freelance artist, designing and animating characters for a variety of film, television, and commercial projects. Her past clients include prominent studios such as Laika, Sony Pictures, Universal Feature, Walt Disney Feature, Disney TV, and Nickelodeon.

Marsigliese also served as the Professor of Classical Animation at Seneca College in Toronto for six years, where she imparted her knowledge and skills to aspiring animators. She continues to influence the industry through her panel talks and workshops at major events, including SXSW, D23, ILM, Leaders London, Pixelatl, CTNX, and The Walt Disney Family Museum. Additionally, she is featured in episode 2 of the new "Inside Pixar" documentary series on Disney+, further showcasing her influence and expertise in animation.

Outside of her professional life, Marsigliese is an enthusiastic collector of vintage fashion and enjoys traveling the world with her husband, Dan. With over 20 years of experience in animation and character design, Marsigliese remains a prominent figure in the art of animation, continuously inspiring both peers and newcomers in the field.
