Debbie Gibson

Singer-Songwriter, Record Producer, Actress

For more than 35 years, Debbie Gibson has maintained a diverse and successful career as a singer, songwriter, producer, musician, actor, and entrepreneur. At the age of 16, she made an indelible mark on the music industry with her self-penned hit "Only In My Dreams." Gibson set a precedent as the youngest artist to write, produce, and perform a No. 1 hit, "Foolish Beat," on the Billboard Hot 100—a record she continues to hold. She further established herself by becoming the youngest female artist to write, produce, and perform two No. 1 songs. Her achievements in songwriting were recognized early when she was named ASCAP Songwriter of the Year. To date, her music career includes more than 16 million albums sold worldwide, 10 studio albums, and five compilations.

Gibson's talents extend beyond the music studio to the stage, where she has starred in 17 musicals including notable roles in Broadway and U.S. national tours, such as Eponine in "Les Miserables," Sandy in "Grease," and Sally Bowles in "Cabaret." Her transition into the acting realm includes a starring role in the Hallmark Channel’s “Summer of Dreams,” which became the highest-rated premiere in the network’s "Summer Nights" franchise. In television, she appeared in CBS’s "Secret Celebrity Renovation" in 2022.

Currently, Gibson is still active in the entertainment industry. Her recent endeavors include "The Body Remembers," a pop album released in 2021 which reached No. 2 on the Apple Pop Sales Charts, followed by a successful 15-city U.S. solo tour. She also introduced her first full-length holiday album, "Winterlicious," in 2022, featuring a unique blend of classics and originals. On the entrepreneurial front, Gibson is the CEO of Stargirl Records, engaging in production, publishing, and more. She launched a bi-monthly radio show, “Debbie Gibson’s Mixtape,” on SiriusXM in 2019. Additionally, Gibson continues to be an influential figure in the music industry, offering insights and critiques in songwriting and performance, and empowering women through her groundbreaking role in music production.
