Deep Nishar is currently a Senior Managing Partner at SoftBank Investment Advisers. Some of his representative investments include 10X Genomics, Guardant Health, Improbable.io, Mapbox, OSIsoft, Petuum, Slack and Zymergen.

Nishar has more than 20 years of experience helping to build and grow successful software and internet businesses. He joined LinkedIn in January 2009, and served as the Senior Vice President of products and user experience until October 2014. He was responsible for setting and executing the company’s global product strategy and led the product management, data science, user experience and web design teams, as well as online sales and business development. Nishar has been credited with simplifying and modernizing LinkedIn’s product portfolio, as well as building the LinkedIn mobile platform to further drive member engagement around the globe. During Nishar’s tenure at LinkedIn, the team grew membership from 32 million to 347 million, revenue from $78 million to $2.2 billion and LinkedIn became a top 20 U.S. and top 25 global site as measured by Comscore.

Before LinkedIn, Nishar worked at Google from 2003 to 2009, where he headed product strategy for the Asia-Pacific region, led the company’s mobile initiatives and built the systems used for managing Google’s global customer base.

Previously, Nishar was Founder and Vice President of products at the software company Patkai Networks. In 2010, he co-founded AngelPad, a mentorship program for entrepreneurs.

Nishar serves on the board of directors for TripAdvisor. He holds an M.B.A. with highest honors (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School, a M.S.E.E. from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a B.Tech with honors from the Indian Institute of Technology. Nishar has co-authored eight patents and is also a recipient of the Google Founders Award, which is given to employees who made extraordinary contributions to the company.
