Co-Founder of The Pujols Family Foundation; Wife of Angels Baseball player, Albert Pujols; Advocate for Down Syndrome Awareness

Deidre Pujols gave birth to her daughter, Isabella, when she was single and 21-years old. She realized shortly after the brith that Isabella had Down Syndrome.

Soon after giving birth to Isabella, Deidre met baseball player, Albert Pujols. He has always embraced Isabella as his own and the couple married in 2000. Albert got signed to the Cardinals in 2001.

Deidre Pujols has served as a driving force for the many good works of the Pujols Family Foundation since its inception on May 5, 2005. Among her many projects was the launch of a website devoted to her passion for Dominican cooking and the disadvantaged women of her husband’s native country. As part of that project, Deidre recently launched a cookbook/calendar with some of her favorite Dominican recipes, which is available from the Pujols Family Foundation store.

The Pujols Family Foundation has the mission to promote awareness, provide hope and meet tangible needs for children and families who live with Down syndrome. To improve the standard of living and quality of life for impoverished people in the Dominican Republic through education, medical relief and tangible goods. To provide extraordinary experiences for children with disabilities and/or life threatening illnesses.

Albert and Deidre Pujols live in St. Louis County and have five children.
