DELORES BUNCH-KEEMER (c) is the Executive Director of Giving A Hand, Inc. and is very active in making a difference in Atlanta’s homeless community. Delores has worked as data administrator and compliance officer the both city and state government, created best practice models for homeless data collection and implemented this model on the required Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) in the state of Georgia. She is a Presidential Fellow and graduate of Kennesaw State University. Delores is also a member of the Homelessness Awareness Week Committee at KSU as well as several civic organizations including the NAACP (Life Member), Friends of the Library at KSU (Charter Member), Golden Key International Honours Society (Alumnus), the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (Alumnus) and Microsoft IT Advisory Council. Although Delores has been honored by several groups for her outstanding leadership and commitment to excellence in the community, working with homeless initiatives is a second career for her. Delores was previously employed by Wall Street firms for 15 years, and held several licenses to solicit commodities, securities, variable annuities, and life and health insurance. Her career path ultimately changed after she was appointed by Governor Purdue to work as an intern in the office of former President Jimmy Carter. President Carter’s humanitarian efforts and impact on the world inspired Delores to emulate him, and commit to being a catalyst of change in Atlanta. And she has been doing just that as the Executive Director of Giving A Hand, Inc. Giving A Hand was created in the memory of Delores' mother - Cleopatra Jones - her mentor and role model: active in the Civil Rights Movement, a community leader for 50 years and a true inspiration - raised 12 foster children.10 of her own and Delores.
