Co-Founder of Women in the Room Productions

Denise Pines is co-founder of Women in the Room Productions, where she is committed to diversity in front of and behind the screen. A creative consultant for PBS, NPR and 11 social justice documentaries, she was the executive producer of the feature-length award-winning "Birthing Justice" and "PUSHOUT: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools" documentaries. Upcoming films include the story of Black Panther costume designer Ruth E. Carter and "Shattering the Silence" about menopause as a public health crisis.

Pines is a lifelong champion of women’s global health and a past president of the Medical Board of California. She sits on the board of the Federation of State Medical Boards and the Osteopathic Medical Board of California. She is the founder of both the WisePause Wellness Summit to educate and empower women on how to manage perimenopause and menopause, and Tea Botanics, which offers healing teas to menopausal women.

Pines is also an award-winning marketer and serial entrepreneur. She has more than 20 years of management, sales and marketing experience in personality brand management and traditional media. She is responsible for strategic planning and business development for denise+pinesinc., a socially responsible brand strategy, media development, and event management firm.

Pines has a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from San Francisco State University and MBAs from both John F. Kennedy University and Stanford University.
