Derek Anderson has been an elite Air Force Pararescueman for 20 years. He has been on several combat deployments in the Middle East and has participated in and led multiple joint exercises/exchanges with partner allies in over 25 countries in every geographic region. Throughout his career, he has attained several advanced qualifications, including being a master parachutist, a military free-fall jumpmaster, a tandem master, and a combat diving supervisor.

Most recently, Anderson acted as the team leader during an 18-day humanitarian aid operation that resulted in the successful rescue of 12 school-age boys and their soccer coach from a cave in Northern Thailand, which has since been featured in several films, documentaries, and a Netflix limited series.
