Derrick Hall

President & CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks

Derrick Hall has left a significant mark on the world of professional baseball. Currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Hall joined the team in 2005 as a senior vice president. Within a year, he was named President, and by 2009, he added the title of CEO. Before his tenure with the Diamondbacks, Hall served as senior vice president for both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Fortune 500 company KB Home. During Hall's leadership, the Diamondbacks clinched two National League West Division Championships, a Wild Card, and an NLCS. Additionally, he played a crucial role in bringing the MLB All-Star Game and World Baseball Classic to Chase Field.

Financially, Hall has proven to be a savvy negotiator, orchestrating the largest financial transaction in franchise history: a 20-year television rights deal with FOX. Under his direction, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation reached an impressive milestone, surpassing $60 million in charitable donations in 2018. Hall's commitment to philanthropy extends beyond the Diamondbacks, as he currently serves on or is associated with over 25 corporate and charitable boards. These include being an Ambassador for the Seena Magowitz Pancreatic Cancer Foundation and a former chairman of the board for Make-A-Wish Arizona.

Despite a personal battle with prostate cancer in 2011, Hall's dedication to community service remained unwavering. In fact, he became an advocate for cancer-fighting charities, even launching his own 501(c)(3) organization, the Derrick Hall Pro-State Foundation, in 2014. Hall's leadership efforts have not gone unnoticed, as he's frequently named to Rise Global and Yahoo's list of 100 Most Influential CEOs. In 2013, an ESPN study named the Arizona Diamondbacks the number one MLB franchise, and they were also the first professional sports team to receive the United Nations NGO Positive Peace Award for community giving.
