Desus Nice, a television, YouTube, and Twitter personality, rose to fame through his partnership with The Kid Mero which spanned over a decade. Together, they started with Complex TV's "Desus vs. Mero," a 46-episode podcast, and later gained recognition through their long-running "Bodega Boys" podcast. He co-hosted Viceland's "Desus & Mero" talk show with Mero until June 2018 and then again on Showtime from February 21, 2019, until July 2022. In 2023, Desus had the opportunity to guest host "The Daily Show," expanding his presence in the world of late-night television.
Desus and Mero released their first book, "God-Level Knowledge Darts: Life Lessons from the Bronx," in 2020. The book, a guide to the lessons they learned after years in the Bronx streets, was named one of the best books of the year by NPR and became a New York Times bestseller. Subsequently, they conducted a successful Virtual Book Tour during the peak of the COVID pandemic. Nice subsequently co-authored "The Joy of Basketball: An Encyclopedia of the Modern Game," which was published in 2021.
In addition to his work on "Desus vs. Mero" and "The Bodega Boys" podcast, Desus has appeared on various TV shows and in movies including MTV's "Joking Off," "Uncommon Sense," "Neo Yokio," "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder," and "The Captain." Over the years, Desus's comedic work has been recognized and acclaimed, earning him a Writers Guild of America Award. His contributions to the late-night television talk show genre are noteworthy, having been featured in the New York Times, Vanity Fair, Los Angeles Times, Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and New York Magazine.
