Devin Leonard is a staff writer at Bloomberg Businessweek. Since joining the magazine in July 2010, he has written cover stories about the "new abnormal" economy, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's conflict with President Obama, and the rebirth of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's enforcement division. His May 2011 cover story, "The End of Mail" was a finalist for the Gerald Loeb award for explanatory writing and won a New York Press Club award for best magazine political coverage in 2012. He also profiled hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, private equity legend Wilbur Ross, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, talk show host Glenn Beck, former Citigroup chairman Richard Parsons and Ukrainian-born investor turned music mogul Leonard Blavatnik and chronicled the rise of Occupy Wall Street. Before this, Leonard was a senior writer and media columnist at Fortune magazine where he wrote about Steve Jobs, David Pecker, Harry Macklowe, Edgar Bronfman Jr., Conrad Black, Mort Zuckerman, Mark Cuban and South Park's Matt Stone and Trey Parker. His Fortune investigative piece, "The Adelphia Story," about the fall of the Rigas family of Adelphia Cable Systems appeared in The Best Business Crime Stories of 2002. His cover story for the magazine, "They Are Coming to Take You Away," was published in The Best Business Stories of 2000.

Prior to Fortune, Leonard was a staff writer for The New York Observer where he covered real estate and politics. He has also written for The New York Times, New York, Wired, Capital New York, Wax Poetics, Philadelphia, Men's Journal, Smart Money, the Philadelphia Inquirer Magazine and the Philadelphia Daily News. Leonard has a B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania. He lives with his wife, Eileen O'Neill Leonard in Maplewood, N.J. They have two children.
