Diana Thomas

Founder, President & CEO of The World Egg and Sperm Bank

Diana Thomas is Founder, President and CEO of the World Egg and Sperm Bank, which provides fertility services to women in need of donated eggs to achieve pregnancy. Thomas merged her two previous companies, the egg donor agency X and Y Consulting, with Cryo Eggs International, the first commercial frozen donor egg bank in the world, to become The World Egg and Sperm Bank.

The companies were created after Thomas' own struggle with infertility. When she gave birth to her son in 1996, he was one of the first hundred children to be born in the U.S. via egg donation. Fertility specialists began approaching Thomas asking for her help in finding egg donors for their own patients. She quickly discovered there was a desperate need for a company that understood empowering recipients with information about egg donors and the emotional sensitivity to navigate through the process of involving another person in their reproductive life.

The World Egg and Sperm Bank has helped more than 7,000 women and couples worldwide conceive a child. It offers a screening, recruiting and egg donor matching services to arrange for traditional or fresh egg donations for recipient women. It also recruits, screens, retrieves and freezes donor eggs in a cryo bank to make eggs immediately available to infertile women. The eggs can be shipped anywhere in the world.

In 2023, Forbes named Thomas to their "50 Over 50" list in recognition of her innovative and impactful work.

Thomas spent her early career in a number of leadership positions in the study and preservation of historic architecture in both the United States and Canada. She graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University with a master’s degree in Architectural History. Her undergraduate work was completed in Canada, where she has dual citizenship.
