Dick Harryvan  

Dick Harryvan (b. 1953, Dutch nationality) is a member of the Executive Board of Amsterdam-based ING Group, which is - based on market capitalization - one of the 15 largest financial institutions worldwide and in the top-10 in Europe.

ING is a global financial institution of Dutch origin offering banking, insurance, and asset management to a broad customer base (private, corporate, and institutional Clients) in more than 50 countries. With a diverse workforce of over 115,000 people, ING comprises a broad spectrum of prominent companies that increasingly serve their Clients under the ING brand. Mr. Harryvan is responsible for ING Direct worldwide and ING Card.

Mr. Harryvan started his career with ING as a management trainee at Nationale-Nederlanden in 1979. From 1980-1989, he held various management positions in ING's US and Canadian insurance businesses. In 1989, Harryvan moved back to the Netherlands and was appointed a manager of the International Division of Nationale-Nederlanden. In 1993 followed the appointment as general manager Bancassurance at the International Division of Amsterdam-based ING Bank. From 1995-2005, Harryvan served as general manager of ING Direct. Until his appointment as a member of the Executive Board of ING Group on 25 April 2006, Harryvan was chief financial officer/chief risk officer and a member of the Global Management Team of ING Direct.

Mr. Harryvan serves on the Board of the Netherlands-Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Harryvan holds a degree in business economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, majoring in finance.
