Actress, Author "Cotswolds Memoir: Discovering a Beautiful Region of Britain on a Quest to Buy a 17th Century Cottage"

British-born Diz White is a book author, speaker, actress and comedy playwright who divides her time between Hollywood and the Cotswolds, the most beautiful part of England.

Diz White is a sought-after keynote speaker for women's groups, corporate entertainments, fundraising events, book clubs and numerous other organizations. Her performance skills from her comedic acting and writing background enhance the subject matter of her talks, providing them with a lighthearted and amusing framework.

Diz received a New York Critics Drama Desk Award for her role in El Grande de Coca-Cola (after its two year run in New York) which she conceived and co-wrote. She also starred in the comedy special adaptation of this show when it was televised by HBO. Among numerous roles and guest appearances in television and film including Star Trek Next Generation with Patrick Stewart, Diz White conceived, co-wrote and starred in the play Bullshot Crummond. It was televised as a comedy special by Showtime and garnered Diz an Ace Cable Award nomination. Following this Diz co-wrote the screenplay for the major motion picture Bullshot, in which she starred with Billy Connolly. This was produced by ex-Beatle George Harrison's HandMade Films.

Both of her plays, El Grande de Coca-Cola and Bullshot Crummond have now become comedy classics and are performed all over the world through Samuel French Play Scripts licensing. After a successful career as an actress and playwright in the U.S.A., Diz's roots pulled her back to England where she bought a cottage in the Cotswolds. Her passion for this gorgeous region inspired her to write her Cotswolds series of books and she has now given over fifty talks in both the U.S.A. and Europe based on them.
The enormous following for the Downton Abbey television series has made one of Diz's talks, based on her book More Cotswolds Memoirs: Creating the Perfect Cottage and Discovering Downton Abbey in the Cotswolds, very popular.

In this talk the Downton Abbey film locations in the Cotswolds are identified and their architectural history explored along with other historic sites of this region. There is even more interest being generated in this topic now that a feature film of Downton Abbey is in production.

Before becoming an actress Diz graduated from The Central St. Martins School of Art in London and her study of architectural history illuminates and informs her descriptions of the Downton Abbey historic film locations. She also applies this knowledge to her meticulous research on the architectural history content in her talks focusing on the rich past that is a feature of the Cotswolds region.
