He is known for his unique, irreverent video editing style and his work on the G.I. Joe PSAs, Tim and Eric, the Eric Andre Show and Portlandia. He has edited with music provided by the band TRS-80. As DJ Douggpound, he often tells jokes to lead musical numbers. Like his video editing, Lussenhop's audio mixes are also irreverent, such as remixing National Public Radio.

He attended the College of DuPage and Columbia College Chicago where he studied film, and cites Monty Python and David Lynch as influences. During college he would shoot wedding videos and edit them. After college he lived in an art gallery in Chicago.
