Donald B. Marron has been a prominent figure in the financial services industry for more than 40 years, during which time he led a major Wall Street firm and distinguished himself as a successful entrepreneur.

Donald B. Marron has been a prominent figure in the financial services industry for more than 40 years, during which time he led a major Wall Street firm and distinguished himself as a successful entrepreneur.  Most recently, Mr. Marron founded Lightyear in November 2000 and today serves as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.  Prior to founding Lightyear, Mr. Marron served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PaineWebber Group, Inc., until its merger in November 2000 with UBS which created the world's largest wealth management firm for private clients with over $1.5 trillion of invested assets.  Mr. Marron came to PaineWebber as a result of a merger he led between the firm and Mitchell Hutchins, a leading institutional brokerage firm that he served as Chairman and CEO.  On a separate track, Marron co-founded Data Resources Inc. in 1969, with Harvard economist Dr. Otto Eckstein.  The company became the largest nongovernmental source of economic data in the world and was purchased by McGraw-Hill Companies in 1979.

Among numerous civic, political, and professional affiliations, Mr. Marron is a member of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Board of Overseers and Managers, a former director of The Charles A. Dana Foundation and a member of the board of trustees of New York University.  He is a Trustee of the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS), a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and  Chairman Emeritus of the Center for the Study of the Presidency,

A collector of twentieth century art, Mr. Marron is a longtime trustee, former chairman and currently president emeritus and trustee of the Board of The Museum of Modern Art and a  former member of the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities.

Mr. Marron is the former chairman of the Board of Managers of Collegiate Funding Services (2004-2006); a former Director of Fannie Mae (2001-2006); a former board member of Shinsei Bank (1999-2005; a former Director of the New York Stock Exchange (1974-1981); a former Governor and Vice Chairman of the Securities Industry Association (1974-1977); and a former Governor of the National Association of Securities Dealers (1997-2001).
