Award-Winning Actor, Comedian & Musician; Performs as Childish Gambino

Donald Glover, born in 1983, is an actor, writer, comedian and musician. Glover first came to attention for his work in the sketch group Derrick Comedy, and his first big acting role was as community college student Troy Barnes on the NBC comedy series Community. He graduated from New York University with a degree in Dramatic Writing in 2006.

Glover also raps under the name Childish Gambino and released the album entitled "Sick Boi" in June 2008. In September 2009, Childish Gambino released the album "Poindexter." A pair of mixtapes entitled "I Am Just A Rapper" and "I Am Just A Rapper 2" were released in close succession in early 2010. He released his third album, "Culdesac," in July 2010, and his album, "Camp," hit No. 2 on the US Rap and R&B charts in 2011.

He released his first studio album, "Camp," in 2011. His second studio album, "Because the Internet," was released in 2013. Glover's third album, "Awaken, My Love!", was released in 2016, spawning the single "Redbone", which peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, and eventually earned him a Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Performance.

In 2017, Glover was included on the annual Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world. In May 2018, Glover released the song and video for "This Is America", which debuted at number-one on the Hot 100. The song was nominated and won four Grammy Awards at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Music Video. In early July 2018, Glover's EP Summer Pack was released which included the Grammy nominated for Best R&B Song song "Feels Like Summer".

Glover's television show Atlanta premiered September 6, 2016 on FX. It was nominated for and won a Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Glover won Best Actor in a Comedy Series on January 8, 2017. At the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards, Glover won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, while the show also earned four other nominations: Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series

Glover played Aaron Davis in the film *Spider-Man: Homecoming, Rich Purnell in "The Martian," and voiced adult Simba in the live-action "Lion King" remake opposite of Beyonce as Nala.

Glover was also a writer for the NBC series 30 Rock, where he developed the character Two-fer along with most of the writing for actor Tracy Morgan in the first season. He was presented the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Comedy Series at the February 2009 ceremony for his work on the third season of 30 Rock.

Glover's stand-up special aired on Comedy Central in March 2010. In June of that year, it was announced that Donald would receive the Rising Comedy Star award at the Just for Laughs festival in July.

Along with the rest of the Derrick Comedy group, Donald wrote and starred in the feature-length film Mystery Team, released in 2009. His current album releases include "Love Letter From An Unbreakable Bottle" and "Utterances of the Heart."

On March 21, 2015 Glover won an mtvU Woodies Award for Best Video Woodie for the song "Sober" from the Kauai EP. As of February 2016, Because The Internet has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for shipping over 500,000 copies. In June 2016, Gambino released an app titled "PHAROS Earth," allowing fans to purchase tickets to a listening event of his new album scheduled to release in September. The listening event took place in Joshua Tree, California.
