Dong Wang is vice president of Alisports, a unit of Alibaba Group. He is responsible for international affairs and external relations, reaching out to sports governing bodies, maintaining working relationships with relevant associations, unions and federations and establishing communication contacts for business development. Wang also works as an NBA play-by-play commentator for Shanghai BesTV and acts as emcee for the China Open and Shanghai Tennis Masters, BMW Open and IAAF Diamond League annually. He was formerly a bilingual (Chinese and English) TV anchor and senior media advisor for CCTV News. Before returning to China, Wang worked for USIA, Hong Kong Star TV, ESPN, CBS and the United Nations as a reporter, anchor, producer and the U.N. spokesman's weekend duty officer. Wang earned a B.A. from Shanghai International Studies University and received his M.A., M.S. and EMBA from the City University of New York, the Columbia University School of Journalism and China Europe International Business School, respectively.
