Douglas M. Leone is a venture capitalist, and has been a partner at Sequoia Capital since 1993. His focus is on Internet and communication investments. He was ranked # 59 on Forbes Magazine’s Midas List in 2008 and #39 on the Forbes Midas List in 2009. Forbes also named Mr. Leone to their list of the top 10 venture capitalists in the United States in 2001.

Leone joined Sequoia Capital in 1988. Prior to 1988, he worked at Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, and Prime Computer in sales and sales management positions. In addition to his responsibilities at Sequoia, Leone currently sits on the Board of Directors of CafePress.com and Aruba Networks. He also serves as a consultant for SourceForge, Inc. In the past, Mr. Leone acted as Director and Member of the Compensation Committee of Broadband Sports, Inc. He was a Director and Member of Audit and Compensation Committees of Infinity Financial Technology Inc. Leone is also a former Trustee of the Menlo School, an independent, coeducational college preparatory day school for grades 6–12.

He holds an MS in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University, and an MS in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Leone earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 1979. He sits on the Cornell Research Foundation's Long Range Planning Committee and belongs to the University's Private Equity Advisory Committee.
