Founder of International Capital Strategies, Former U.S. IMF Executive Board Member, Senior Investment Banker

Douglas A. Rediker is the Founder and Chairman of International Capital Strategies, LLC, a Washington, DC-based consultancy advising institutional investors on the political economy of global financial markets. He is also a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at Brookings, having previously been a visiting fellow at the Peterson Institute. Rediker is a former U.S. representative on the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where he served from 2010 to 2012 after being nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the US Senate.

Rediker's expertise spans roles as an executive and commentator on global financial trends and geopolitical issues. He served as Chairman/Vice Chairman and Member of the World Economic Forum Geopolitics, Geoeconomics and Economic Growth Global Agenda/Future Councils, where he moderated and participated in panels at WEF events in Davos on topics such as capital markets, the international monetary system, emerging markets, and global governance. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Cowen, Inc. (COWN), a New York-based, publicly listed financial services company. Previously, Rediker spent over 16 years in Europe, working as a senior investment banker and private equity investor. His extensive background in finance includes roles as head of EEMEA Investment Banking, where he engaged with governments, central banks, and the private sector on significant financial projects, including privatizations, mergers and acquisitions, and capital market transactions.

Rediker has also contributed significantly to scholarly and public discourse, having testified before the US Congress on critical issues such as the Euro crisis and the implications of economic turmoil on global politics. He is the co-editor of "What's Next: Essays on the Geopolitics That Matter" and has been published extensively in respected outlets like The Financial Times, The New York Times, and Foreign Affairs. His recognition as an "Emerging Markets Superstar" by Global Finance Magazine underscores his influence and expertise in the field of global economics. Additionally, he holds memberships with prestigious organizations such as the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations and has had affiliations with the New America Foundation and the Global Strategic Finance Initiative.
