Food & Wine’s Best New Chef for 2020, Douglass Williams is the Chef / Owner of MIDA in Boston’s South End. Inspired by the simplicity of classic Italian culinary traditions, Williams believes in being generous and thoughtful in the way he prepares his food and engages with the community. Williams is the proud owner of Boston’s only Black-owned fine dining restaurant. Williams combines his global culinary experiences with his unique background of African-American, Syrian, Lebanese, and Jewish roots.

A semi-finalist for the James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef: East, Williams has received numerous accolades for his cooking & has competed on Iron Chef America. He has two restaurant projects on the horizon including “APIZZA”; Williams’s take on New Haven Style Pizza slated to open Fall 2020, and an unnamed offshoot of MIDA for Spring 2021.
