Dr. Eric Flamholtz  

President of Management Systems Consulting Corporation; Professor Emeritus at UCLA's Anderson School of Management

Professor Flamholtz has broad interdisciplinary interests. He began his academic career as one of the founders of the field of Human Resource Accounting, and his book on this subject is generally recognized as the landmark work in this area.

Since 1976, Professor Flamholtz' interests focus upon organizational growth and development especially in entrepreneurial firms. His research has led to several frameworks which analyze the key building blocks of organizational success and the transitions from one stage of development to the next.

Professor Flamholtz has authored several widely read books, including "Growing Pains: Transitioning from an Entrepreneurship to a Professionally Managed Firm," "The Inner Game Of Management" (co-authored), "Human Resource Accounting," and "Changing the Game: Managing Organizational Transformations of the First, Second, and Third Kinds" (co-authored).

In 1978, he co-founded Management Systems Consulting Corporation, an organizational development consulting firm specializing in helping rapidly growing organizations manage their growing pains and increase the probability of successfully managing transitions from one stage of growth to the next. He has consulted for many companies including Amgen, Countrywide Financial Corporation, Starbucks, Simon properties, PacifiCare, Neutrogena, American Century Investors, Baskin Robbins, The Disney Stores, IBM, Navistar International, Pardee Homes and subsidiaries of Johnson & Johnson, and UAL.

Currently, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors of 99 Cents Only Stores. He also is a member of the Personnel Roundtable.

Professor Flamholtz has presented seminars and workshops for a wide variety of firms and organizations, including Nike, Colgate Palmolive, AT&T, Hughes Electronics, Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Forbes Presidents Forum, Fortune Growth Conference, Fortune Human Resources Forum, Fortune CFO Forum, General Motors, PepsiCo, ARCO, Allergan, the Hyatt Corporation, Borg Warner, TRW, and Federal Express, and many more. Professor Flamholtz is currently working on a book for Cambridge University Press dealing with the leadership of strategic change in organizations.
