Dr. Eric W. Hickey has been identified as one of the top 15 active forensic experts in the world and a renown national and international public speaker. He is a faculty member in Walden University’s Forensic Psychology doctoral program and has taught courses on serial and mass murder, criminal paraphilia, sexual predators, crime scene investigations, psychopathy, criminal personalities, arson and fire-setting, threat assessment and risk management, school and workplace violence prevention, and victimology. He has conducted seminars in countries throughout Europe, Asia and North America and has trained VIP protection specialists in Israel in profiling stalkers and conducting threat assessments and interventions. Dr. Hickey has worked with the criminally insane, psychopaths, sex offenders and other habitual criminals. He consults and testifies as an expert witness in both criminal and civil cases involving sex crimes against children and adults, criminal paraphilia, stalking, homicide, domestic violence, and serial crimes. A consultant to the FBI's UNABOM Task Force, Dr. Hickey assisted in the apprehension of Ted Kaczynski, the nation’s most prolific serial bomber. In the Jeffrey Dahmer case, Dr. Hickey is the only expert to have ever interviewed both his brother and his mother. Some of his other high-profile cases include Larry Hall, believed to have abducted and murdered 36 female college students while he posed as a Civil War re-enactor in cities around the U.S., Randy Woodfield, the I-5 killer, a narcissist who sadistically tortured and murdered several young women, and the MacArthur Park killer, Juan Cortez, who strangled and sodomized 7 men in downtown Los Angeles.
