Dr. Gary Alter is a plastic surgeon with an emphasis in genital reconstruction. He is one of only a few physicians in the United States who is Board Certified in both urology and plastic surgery. He attended the University of California, Berkeley for three years, then went to the University of California, Los Angeles for medical school.

He is a semi-frequent host of the radio show Loveline.

Gary J. Alter, MD is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at UCLA. The plastic surgeon attended the University of California at Berkeley for three years prior to entering medical school at UCLA, where he earned his medical degree and completed two years of general surgery residency. Dr. Alter completed a urology residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and a plastic surgery residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Alter is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
