Dr. Hans-Ulrich Engel is Chief Financial Officer of BASF SE, parent company of the BASF Group of global companies, and also serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BASF Corporation, which oversees the full range of the company’s activities in the US. His areas of responsibility include finance, catalysts, information services, supply chain management, corporate controlling, and corporate audit.

Dr. Engel joined BASF in 1988 working in the company’s legal department. He first represented the company in the US in 1993 and over the next several years worked for BASF in the US as well as in its headquarters in Germany. In 2000 he became Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of BASF Corporation and President Regional Functions North America. He assumed his current positions in 2011.

Dr. Hans-Ulrich Engel holds doctorate of law degree from the University of Göttingen.
