Dr. Phillips was graduated from Williams College with a Bachelor's degree in English. She earned her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Phillips then completed her residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, where she was awarded the Letter of Commendation for Outstanding Performance in Women's Health. She has maintained a private practice for 11 years, addressing a full range of Internal Medicine conditions, with a particular focus on preventive women's health.

She is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians and Independent Doctor's Association of New York.
