Communication: The Hidden and Untold Story of Life's Most Important Skill

Communication both with others and oneself is a critical driver of success in anything. Yet it is hardly ever talked about and rarely taught. In a world where manipulation and mistrust are inherent, now more than ever understanding and practice of effective communication is paramount. Without this knowledge you won't be able to fully recognize the impact of attempts to manipulate and brainwash you. Instead, you'll think, incorrectly, that such marketing methods are the way to communicate. So what's the answer?

  • Understanding the importance of authenticity
  • Learning how to be strategic
  • Tailoring the message to the listener(s)
  • Creating emotional engagement

These lessons apply as much to your communication with yourself as they do to others. Are you brainwashing yourself with habitual thoughts? Do you know how to truly express yourself? Who are the enemies in your head?

  • Learn how to identify manipulation
  • Become very clear about your message
  • Determine how to emotional connect with your audience
  • Choose the right words and gestures
  • Be authentic with others and yourself

I Think Therefore I Am Wrong

One of my most used quotes is "Human beings aren't logical, they're psychological often with the emphasis on the psycho." The fact is that people will believe anything they want to believe and in a world designed to spread mistrust, this has become critical to the future of everything, including Mankind itself. As I recently wrote, "If you don't know what to believe, then everything is potentially a lie."

In this event the audience are asked several key questions: Where do your thoughts and beliefs come from? Why do they change, if they ever do? What influences your consciousness and thought process? How do you know what is true?

The fact is that we are often not driven by rationality but by the need for control and consistency of our stories. In this event, the audience will learn about...

  • The numerous factors that influence perception
  • The internal processes that actually drive thinking
  • Why do we have conspiracy theories
  • How to control the key processes that underpin thinking
  • The relationship of rationality, emotions and other factors.

What do you think of that?

The Art and Science of Redemption

Have you ever screwed up badly and had to face shame, humiliation and disgrace? It's quite common in these days of social media. So, if you're an addict, accused of wrongdoing, or simply exposed on social media, how do you cope with the fallout?

The typical response, especially in this golden age of victimhood, is to deny your responsibilities and blame everyone else. That is the worst thing that you can do. In this presentation Dr Rankin will tell you what helped him through the most difficult time in his life and what that means to not just recover but thrive from adversity.

The keys to redemption are...

  • acceptance
  • honesty
  • integrity
  • self-compassion
  • meaning

The presdentation always resonates with the audience as Dr Rankin provides numerous examples of both what not to do and what to do.
